Quick Facts

Jewelers Tiffany & Co., based in New York, are responsible for making the Super Bowl trophy

While making the rounds at the Super Bowl in Phoenix, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson stopped by radio row on Wednesday and spoke with WFNZ's Mark Packer on "Primetime with the Pacman." Packer wasted little time asking Johnson, who is still under contract with the Bengals but clearly trying to find a way out of Cincinnati, if he would be interested in playing for Carolina.

   "Definitely," Johnson said.

Then, he went on to say, "Hey, 89 and 85 equals Super Bowl. DeShaun Foster would never see eight men in the box."

That was a reference to Johnson being reunited with former junior college teammate Steve Smith.

When Packer asked if there would be enough balls to go around with him and Smith on the same field, Johnson replied, "We did it a Santa Monica, we could do it again."

   Interesting.

Now, before you get all excited, Panther fans, remember that Johnson is still under contract through 2011 with the Bengals and the team has said they don't plan to part with him. Even if they did, he surely would come with a steep price tag.

The Panthers have been hesitant to trade first-day draft picks for veteran players in the past and Johnson's contract would be an issue, too.

Also, Carolina isn't the only team on Johnson's mind. He did a number of radio shows on Wednesday and made it pretty clear he's ready to move on from Cincinnati.

Will he end up in Carolina?

It's hard to imagine. But boy, wouldn't that be a whole lot of fun?

That is a move you simply can not afford to not make. If he wants to be here and smitty wants him here and the bengals are willing to give him up then you have to find a way to pull the trigger on something this huge. i say do it.

I agree with you guys all the way and steve another great article kep it up the observer got me board I loving this and I love to see Chad Johnson ,A.K.A Ocho Cinco on the Carolina Panthers we will have the Money to get him and still get more talent and think aout it other playmakers will want to come here because they see the talent and look toward a future Superbowl apperance with a win I like this idea and believe it will be the bigest offseason move this year and in Panthers Histroyhere by the way a list of guys we can still get after the trade : Allen Jarred DE Floze Adam LT Ken Hamlin S Lance Briggs OLB Michel Turner RB slim chance if we get some or all of the players above him but with the move the Patriots made you would have said thats nevr going to happen you find out anything can happen and i believe that for the Panthers

As much as I'd LOVE to see Ocho Cinco on the Panther's roster, i'd have to say that R. Williams is not only a better fit than C. Johnson, but it is actually a more likely trade... he has stated he also wants out of Detriot w/ the emergence of Calvin Johnson, Shaun McDonald, and their rookie Middleton's late development, they can probably afford to let him test FA... Detroit is more likely to draft WR early for cheaper than what R. Williams will cost them this year.. Also, keep in mind that Detroit has more needs that we can fill in a trade than we can provide Cincy... Not to mention, R. Williams is a much better blocker in the run game, and should be slightly cheaper than C. Johnson too... I'm not saying that the Panther's have no chance of getting 85, and I would love for him to be reunited w/ Smitty, I just think that R. Williams would be more valuable, not to mention more class...
