Are the Bears Tampering?Reports are saying that Pep's agent has began talks with the Bears. Technically the FA period does not begin until Friday. I know teams do it or else Haynesworth would not have been signed six hours into FA last year. I am pretty sure though that last year the Bears (ironically) charged the 49ers with a similar charge and got a draft pick from them. If they are indeed talking with Pep already is it tampering since we have not tagged him? Bc technically we still own his rights bc the NFL season from which we paid him is not over. Can we get a pick from this? It is kind of petty but they did it last year so I would not feel so bad about it. You reap what you sow! Do we even have a shot at this bc I do not know the exact rules concerning this? |

Re: Are the Bears Tampering?Also in the report is said that Pepper's agent only has one client, Peppers. Now I am starting to think the things we hear aren't Peppers. His agents salary depends on how much Peppers gets paid so I believe this guy is the one who keeps telling Peppers to reject Carolina's offers; since he can get more on the open market

Re: Are the Bears Tampering?Yes it is tampering and the Panthers should file a grievance with the league but I doubt they will. Doesn't seem like Richardson's style though. But hay a draft pick is a draft pick. And yes the Bears did file a grievance against the 49ers a few years ago concerning Lance Briggs and they were awarded a draft pick from the 49ers, can't remember what round though. |
