DefenseI have held back on this post for a long time but we could obtain Alan Branch and Corey Williams and we would still be in trouble. I am really starting to question the coaching style of John Fox. We lack the killer attitude needed to be a great defensive football team. We always come out flat after bye weeks and opening games. There are injuries and the Peppers handcuffing us from signing any depth but Fox, with his hands all over this team, is too easy on our guys. I really hope we are not showing anything in the preseason but after watching the first 3 preseason games, I believe we are in trouble. |

Re: DefenseFox is one of the most boring coaches in the NFL-So far his game plans in the preseason have been way to vanilla-Our defense looks confused out there-Last night our front 4 didn't look to bad but our secondary is horrible Gamble was getting picked on last night he was getting beat on every play-I hope we come out hungry against the iggles-If we dont that stadium will look real empty-2 more weeks |

Re: DefenseI can't remember who, but I remember one of the players saying that Meeks had simplified the defense to where they mostly react instead of think. Well, from the looks of things he better throw some complex shit in there because the reactions ain't lookin to sweet right now. |

Re: DefensePoor tackling made the defense look worse! Several times they had opportunities to make big stops, but just didn't lock-up on their tackles! It seemed everyone of them had the problem....maybe some tough tackling drills before the real season starts might get their attention. The offense had some great opportunities but drives were stopped by stupid penalities!! The truth is they played sloppy and got beat by junk passes! We just might be in trouble. |

Re: DefenseThe D is missing some key players however, it is concerning at how lack luster and unconfident the D looks...one would have thought-and perhaps this will take hold once the regualr season begins--sure hope so--but one would have thought they would be playing with a passionate desire to prove that the way last season ended was just a flux...instead the energy and disposition they seem to be playing with is one that looks like they beleive they are not really all that good...Like stated...hope this changes when the bullets start to fly for real in the regualr season...but it sure looks like they are going thur some serious selfdoubts about what kind of D they really & trully deep-down believe they are all about...just average or aspiring for greatness...you cannot be to the top w/o trully desiring it to be so...and beleiving it is attainable...they are playing w/o much confidence if any at all... |

Re: DefenseWe need some attitude and swagger on the D. I think the defensive philosophy should be to dictate and intimidate rather than react. The defense has been playing back on their heels the enttire preseason and teams have taken advantage...oh yeah and by the way, PLEASE TACKLE THE MAN WITH THE FOOTBALL!!! WRAP UP AND TACKLE! Don't reach and play patty-cake!!! |
