While I do not disagree with your last line Talbot, he was still a starter.  We better be getting something else otherwise this makes no sense.  I mean has Williams done anything or worth to show he is even half the player Harris is/was for us.

I kind of expected this to come, but was surprised it took this long.  When Sherod Martin filled in for Godfrey he played really well, and we already know how the team feels about Godfrey back there so it almost seemed inevitable.

Harris was an awesome player, and the Panthers will definitely miss his toughness and leadership.  This was a different defense when he finally got healthy last year.  But I think Martin and Godfrey are better fits for what the Panthers are trying to do under Meeks. 

When Harris survived the March cuts and the draft I  thought that he would be back next year.  I love Harris so that is what I wanted, but unfortunately we have to move on.  If we got Jamar Williams I'm guessing that the best return that the Panthers were offered given that it is this late in the off season. 

I'm really going to miss Harris' huge hits, and I think the Panthers run stoppers are going to miss his presents in that regard as well.  But I still believe in this FO and these Coaches.
