Fosters Revenge: fumblitisDid it seem last night, and I suppose in the other games, too, that there was an inordinate amount of occurances that the ball slipped out of our hands or got knocked out or we fielded a kick after muffing it?

Re: Fosters Revenge: fumblitisI think that stems alot from lack of passion. We just don't seemed fired up out there and that translates to lazy efforts (tackling) and of course fumbles. Usually when you see someone fumble, they are being lazy with their run route. IE: hitting the hole late, not using your bigs to screen, being impatient. Goodson has many skills but he doesn't seem to bring the intangibles. I know it's early but he kinda bothered me last night when he said, "When I knew I was going to Carolina, I was like who dey got there?" Who dey got-are you serious? Did you grow up in the Mojave dessert? Dey got only the most lethal 1-2 punch in the league holmes. I ain't being too hard on the kid but he needs to mature ALOT. |

Re: Fosters Revenge: fumblitisI don't think it was for lack of intensity because I saw plenty of that. Just because we suck doesn't mean we were not fired up. I think that with Goodson it has to do with lack of experience. He is still learning to play on an NFL level. Sure he has 3 fumbles, but the kid is already playing like he has been in the league for several years. |

Re: Fosters Revenge: fumblitisI mean, it wasn't just Goodson. It seemed like every kick, the returner, be it Munnerlyn or Moore, would have it bounce off of them, but be lucky enough to have it bounce right back up into their hands. McCown's also guilty of this. You could put some of it on the second string O-line, but it helps to have a bit more pocket awareness. |

Re: Fosters Revenge: fumblitisReally? I see NO passion out there at all. I don't hear it in their voices. You know how when you get beat up and as the other guy is walking away you say, "thats ok you don't want no more of this"? I don't feel as though we are saying this. I feel like we are just at odds with the situation. Maybe things will change-I hope. |

Re: Fosters Revenge: fumblitisDanger is right, most who are secure in their roster spot are just playing to get used to the game. They are not playing to win, which is why they don't have any "intensity". I thought that Leman and some others that are trying to make the roster on defense and offesen played with a lot of passion- most of them just suck. I don't know why the guys cant hold onto the ball but I wonder if some of it isn't nerves. Thing about the returners is that although they have not handled the ball well, when they have it they have the potential to take it to the house. IE Captain in the fins game. |
