33 as a slot receiver... why not? When Goodson was first drafted the talk was that he could be used as a slot reciever as well as a RB...cannot say that I have been to a practice or have seen every snap for the preseason but this does not appear to be happening. This leads me to wonder---out loud if this is not happening because 28's injured achilles may put him on the shelf for a good portion of the upcoming season??? Either that or they simply feel that is is best for a rookiee to learn one position very well technically rather than being a Jack of two trades and master of none...thoughts??? Just have this bad feeling that 28 and this injury may be worse than the team is letting on...if in fact 28 was out getting a second opinion as has been rumored---well...typically the dynamic of doing so does not point in a positive direction on the initial prognosis for the injury....thoughts???? |

Re: 33 as a slot receiver... why not?For now, I can't imagine him worrying about playing the slot until J-Stew gets back and proves he's healthy.

Re: 33 as a slot receiver... why not?He apparently has great hands. They'll probably use him there but haven't wanted to show this in the preseason. I have the same feeling that husker does about JStew. Not lookin too good. They may even put Jstew on IR, roll with Goodson and retain Lee, who by the way, was mentioned to be able to work out of the slot as well. |

Re: 33 as a slot receiver... why not?it would stink to high heaven to lose 28 for an extended period of time..i agree that 33 has much big play capabilites...but I get rather worked up over guys that also seem to be prone to leaving the ball laying around on the ground...and while he is dynamic, am in noway prepared to say that if 28 is indeed out that 33 comes in and there is no drop off...28 is proven, 33 while does some very very exciting stuff simply cannot be compared to 28 just yet...now having 34-28 & 33...wow...let's hope it is so!!!!! |

Re: 33 as a slot receiver... why not?J-Stew and Beason have vowed to play week one. ANd yeah I think he was focused on playing RB solely due to Stew's inability to make the field. |

Re: 33 as a slot receiver... why not?Williams and Stewart in as split backs, Steve Smith and Moose as wideouts, and Goodson in as slot receiver. That would be four big playmakers and one solid fifth option (Moose) on the field at the same time. Maybe not possible (no tight end), but kinda makes me drool a little bit! |
