Set at WR?For lack of better terminology---given the intital "coming out talent party" that Gettis & LaFell displayed (complements of #3) in the W -v- SF...could it be said that the club has stuck a gold vain...have the best young WR'ing corp in the NFL & is set at the position for the next 5-6-7 yrs?

Re: Set at WR?idk man, i HATE getting my hopes up, but yes they did show a glimpse of brilliance! i just hope and pray our passing game stays the same.. and they spread the field so our RBs can run wild! When we ran the spread offense, guys got open easily... i hope the staff sees that and builds off of it |

Re: Set at WR?I am not counting my chicken before they are hatched, however I will say I feel far better about our passing game after last weeks win. If they continue to improve we will be good to go for years to come... |

Re: Set at WR?From fox I learened not to get to low when we lose or to high when we win. I will say if Gettis or any one of our recievers give us a legit #2 where you can't double Smith as much or commit to the box we will be dangerous. Our defense who is ranked 8th needs to keep improving though. |

Re: Set at WR?Great game from those two but it was only one game(49ers 1-5) but a great one none the less. I think our WRs have potential to be very good and can build on this next game and hopefully Matt keeps playing better every week our QB is either going to make or break these guys |

Re: Set at WR?extremely lets give it year or two when we are looking at what the Giants are looking at. Clowney and Thomas were both cut, one by a good team one by a bad team. Both could use this season to showcase that they belong on a NFL roster but beyond that i remain skeptical that they will be part of long term plans. I hate to say it but I don't know if Steve Smith will be in the picture or not ...... he isn't getting any younger. Gettis and LaFell need to play like #1's. Edwards, who knows? |

Re: Set at WR?I think if you look at our considerably deep stable of WRs, we could have it a lot worse. We may have just seen the flash of talent that is available in our two "true WR" draft picks last week. The jury will be out on Edwards until he does something spectacular. The additions of Clowney and Thomas can be chalked up to motivation for Gettis and LaFell to get with it or get the hell out (see Dwayne Jarrett). Whomever takes over the reigns next season will keep the sure-fire guns on the roster, so everybody's playing for their job, one-year contract or 4-year contract. So I think every receiver that gets a jersey and some playing time will make the most of it from here on out. We've got 5 out of 6 receivers competing for a starting gig next to Smitty right now. Survival of the fittest, gentlemen! |
