Re: Ok so next year...

Yeah our O-Line is the biggest problem at the moment. We need to get that back as our strength. The only way that happens is if we get a MONSTER in the first round! Or at least it will be a step in the right direction...

I don't care what we do just don't do this next year I wouldn't be able to bear it. I just want some hope like Clausen to look like a real qb.

Re: Ok so next year...

well ..hate to say it..but Clausen is GARBAGE..there is a reason he droped down in the draft..just goes to show mel kiper doesn't know everything..and he didnt listen to gruden in that QB camp gruden had with all the qb's....If the "chin " does come here..i hope he keeps Meeks ..cause our D is not the biggest problem..its those 2 junk Qb's ..Fox Hurney , davidson and the lack of getting any veteran help for 89.....When oaklands offense or heck even Buffalo's offense is better than us....its time for change

Re: Ok so next year...

We need to Draft a Real QB and get Rid of Davidson and the Mickey Mouse QB Coach.Edwards won a few National Championships and Pikes Record was Great also it's really to bad they didn't play for a Losing ND Team. I beleiove if given a chance either one would give us a chance to win a few more games.Edwards is use to Running and with our O line not Blocking anyone he would give us the best chance to win.

No football means no revenue for the owners and no game checks for players. It also messes up player contracts that are incentive-ladden. Not to mention all the jersey and apparel sales go in the dumper.
I could be wrong but my understanding is the owners get there tv money no matter what.  If that is the case that is the biggest chunk of revenue.  That is why the owners will win.  They can afford to go on with out football.  In a poll of players most said they couldn't go more than 3 or 4 weeks without pay.

Re: Ok so next year...

I'm not giving up on clausen but if I'm picking at the top of the draft I would take a QB.  I guess Luck from Stanford but I'm still not sure who.  All I know is only take a different position if you are already set at QB.  Meaning without a doubt you have a franchise QB.  I don't think we can say that.  Top 3 picks are very expensive you will have to overpay no matter what position you take so you might as well take QB.

Hook While I agree with you on most of it. The one thing that might be the silver lining in our ineptitude this season is the early pick. If the CBA is done when we sign the picks this year it is almost guaranteed that there will be a rookie pay scale in place, the owners want it and the players want it. So this year we might be lucky enjoy the benefit of being at the right spot at the right time.
