FairleyFairley? What would he be on our team. I believe he is a 4-3 d tackle. Could he be a 3-4 d. end. I don't think the first pick overall is worth a 3-4 d. end. If Rivera wants to eventually go to a 3-4 I don't think Fairley is for us. If he stays 4-3 with no long term goal to change to 3-4 maybe you take Fairley. What do you all think? |

Re: Fairleyi say either take him aj green or the cornerback who i think im leaning towards just because u can never have to many shut down corners. and he may turn into one. defensive tackles are just scary to take that high. me personally i say green or peterson. |

Re: FairleyI'd love to see the Panthers pick up Ashomungu (sp?) as a shut-down corner rather than picking up a rookie CB that early. As for Fairley, I don't know much about his character, but in interviews he doesn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. The announcers last night compared him to Suh, but I don't think he is nearly at that level. I'm also nervous about them taking another WR with the first pick, even though A.J. Green is considered to be a safe bet. I'm still trying not to be bitter about Andrew Luck, but MAN I wish he was coming out. After him, I'm not too excited about any of the first pick candidates. |

Re: FairleyFairly in the NFL will be a 3 tech DT. He could be a 3-4 DE but he doesn't have the prototypical length to play the position.

Re: FairleyWe have to take this dude! He is a beast for sure. The only BIG knock on him so far is he is a little dirty (which could be a good thing for us right now). I watched him play 5 times this season and he could make an immediate impact. Once he bulks up, he will be the stuffer we have been lacking since lard azz Jenkins was here. Take him for some immediate, bonified help. I wouldn't mind seeing Bowers in Panther blue either but Fairley could allow us to continue to develop Johnson and Brown for a studded front with BeasTon and Connor laying wood in the background. Plus how great would it be for someone to come in and immediately grace the #90 jersey? |

Re: FairleyHe is dirty which i don't know if it is all together a bad think but he also seems dumb as hell which combined with being dirty could be costly in the NFL. He is a beast, but seems to have a high bust % drafted at #1 ...is he smart enough ...... then again, what else can we do? |

Re: FairleyI agree with Cakalaka. I worry about him being a bust, and not to insult the guy, but he does seem to be a little dim-witted. I could be completely wrong about that, and intelligence is probably not as important for a DT as it would be for a QB. He was definitely a monster in college ball this year. |
