My QB PlanI know we all want to see the Panthers in the big dance next year, but if we are honest we know that most likely will not happen. We could go get Mcnabb or another veteran QB and bench Clausen, which I don't think is the best option.

Re: My QB PlanI honestly think we should find out what we have in Tony Pike. He's prototypical QB size for this era, and he's got a great arm. I'd like to see Steve do a piece on what he's been doing since he went on IR last season. Has he been working out to try and land the starting gig over Pickles or what? I don't think we talk about him enough. I'd rather see Pike start over Pickles and have a vet behind him, with Pickles riding family dog at #3 on the depth chart. The scenario would be the same as what talbot suggested, only we'd finally get a chance to see what we have in Pike. |

Re: My QB PlanI have no problem with that either. But we went say....6-10 or 7-9 with Pike, what would we really know about either QB. We couldn't be certain about Clausen and depending about how the games played out, we might not be certain about Pike. |

Re: My QB PlanI have given that some thought too! |

Re: My QB PlanPike is the Wild card in all of this. I think he has a shot to be something if he is given time to learn the system. Pike showed up late due to some NCAA rule and was behind the 8 ball all year. I would rather see what Clausen has and if he can't cut it then give Pike a shot mid-year. Either way we need to know if either can play ball. |
