Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....With Bowers and Fairley looking to be slipping and no offensive player worthy of the number 1 pick looks like Peterson might be our guy.

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....And a team looking for a CB connot go wrong with Prince Amukamura...gotta plug them Nebraska DB's. If'en a CB could ever be the face of a franchise...Prince sure has the qualities needed...great player...great person...would be a Panther great! That all said...I doubt the club will take a CB with the number one...and if they did...PP may have the .005 second edge on Prince foot speed wise...I could see the Panther taking PA if they did trade down to say 7-8-9.... |

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....Why do you think Fairley and Bowers are slipping? Because a few hacks think Peterson is better at the combine? I think a few more factors need to be considered with OUR pick at #1. And I just don't see them taking a db at #1. Maybe but I dont think so. The kid is dynamic but we need pressure on the qb more than a shut down (possibly) corner. I wouldn't be mad but think Fairley is more of a logical plug in. Either way it's nice to think about the possibilities. |

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....Fairley and Bowers are both slipping, they aren't the number 1's in Mayock top 5's anymore. Quinn and Dareus have both past them and Mayock is considered the best talent evaluator around.

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....If JR thinks there won't be any football I say take Fairley or Peterson let's get the best player we can get. If there might be football I say take Scam or Gabby. |

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....I'm on board for taking a shot on Newton or Gabbert. There's defeinitely no lock that if we have football (even in a shortened season) we'll be in a position to draft Andrew Luck. Likewise, there's no lock that Luck is still the same player after another college season (without Harbaugh). Look at how far Jake Locker has slipped after returning for his senior season. So this may be our last chance for a while to have been so lousy the previous season that we get the first pick and have the opportunity to get a franchise guy. If Newton and/or Gabbert continue to show they have the right stuff at their pro days and in interviews with JR, we need to draft the one we feel most comfortable with, then go grab Billy Volek and make our rookie watch and learn for the majority of the season. Rivera will fix the defense to his liking, so I think he'll handle getting us a new "fat guy" in due course. |

Re: Patrick Peterson was just added to #1 discussion....I'm at the point where I don't think we can pass up on Gabbert or Cam. And if they look ok in their pro day forget it we got to pick one. I feel uneasy not picking one of the two. |
