Re: Blaine GabbertI wouldn't be so stuck on this lockout thing just yet because it just might get worked out! The QB position was a area Marty Hurney said he'd be looking into upgrading through the draft, free agency, or through trade. I'd be shocked to see us take a QB with the number one overall pick to be honest! But if we do take a QB out of this class I'd prefer Gabbert or Mallet myself only if we traded back and for that teams first and second round selection though. |

Re: Blaine GabbertI recently read an article at Superbowl Nation suggesting that Gabbert could go #1 overall based on his combine workouts, despite not throwing. The article said that for it to be a reality he'd have to really impress with his throwing at Missouri's Pro-Day. We'll see. |

Re: Blaine GabbertSo funny...there have been 6 guys reported as going number one now. So it's official, Newton, Fairley, Green, Gabbert, Bowers and Peterson will all be chosen for the number #1 pick by the Carolina Panthers and there will be a coin toss to determine who we actually take. Or lottery, whichever makes the least amount of sense... |

Re: Blaine GabbertI'm starting to be won over by the Gabbert camp, but we'll know a lot more after his pro day. I wouldn't mind seeing Hurney draft him and bring in a workable veteran (maybe McNabb) to take the reins for a year and let Gabbert learn, a la Aaron Rogers. Ideally, I'd love to see them trade back a couple of spots, take Gabbert, and pick up a second round pick. |
