Let's face it guys, we are lucky that Peppers is essentially playing for a contract again.  If he has a 2.5 sack campaign again then not many teams will be interested.  If he plays hard and our defense gets chemistry, then we could go far.  If we look like a Super Bowl contender again after this year then Peppers will probably want to stay and will sign long term, especially if the defense is top 10 in the league.  If he doesn't then we can let him go (hopefully we work something out in exchange) and we will have a 2 year guy in Everette Brown ready to step in.

We've handled the Peppers things like geniuses because it gives us a chance to win now AND in the future.  If Peppers had walked we wouldn't be near as potent as we are now while at the same time drafting a future sack specialist in Brown.

So what's this have to do with this thread?

Well, Peppers intimidates people because of his size and let's face it, he's not considered but multiple media outlets as the #1 DE in the league for nothing.  And at the same time, we have him in a situation where he has to work for a contract AND we have leverage with Brown!  Go Hurney!
