3rd down D is KILLING the clubs chances for W's...just KILLING'EM  :(

And here is a double :(   many of atl's 3rd down conversions have been 3rd and mediums or 3rd and longs...what a demoralizer for a D and the team overall :(  :(

I still contend that the offensive staff must insist on running the football more often...in as much as running the football allows for more ball control and thus keeps a inconsistent D off the field longer...cuz to date the D does not know how to win on 3rd downs!

In order to win a football game a team must control the line of scrimmage, win the turnover battle, and control the explosive plays.  Our defense couldn't control the line of scrimmage at gun point.  Through six games the defense is allowing teams to rush for an average of 140 yards a game, next to last in the league.  The defense has given up 13 plays of 20+ yards or more, the most in the league.  The defense has forced only 5 turnovers, tied for third worst in the league.  The gaping holes at DT and CB that where there the last two seasons are still there.  There is one starting caliber CB on the roster in Gamble and there are no starting caliber DT on the roster at all.  I don't see this team improving at all so far this season, only getting worse.  These players are are human so the losing and disappointment is got to be taking its toll by now just as it is with the fans.  No excuses of being young or being locked out.  We're six weeks into the season and we're going in reverse. Sean McDermitt is clueless on what personnel he wants in the game.  Players are always late substituting in towards the end of the play clock and that's the fifth or sixth penalty for having 12 men on the field.  Special teams are totally nonexistent.  They make no positive impact in any game so far this season.  Damn this frustrating to no end.
