So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

Who would you rather be the Face of this franchise? After 7 weeks of football, do you think Cam has turned his Haters into Sack Chasers Yet? Lol!

Well when asked the question above, Merrill Hoge, ESPN Analyst  and Biggest Preseason Cam Hater, has officially jumped on the Cam Newton Sack Wagon. He said that if he was faced with such a decision he would definitely rather have Cam as his QB over Luck. Wow, how the Tables have turned.

I said that he would be Great upon the Panthers Drafting him. I wonder if Cam doubters & Patrick Peterson/Marcella Darius wanters feel that Cam was Hands down the best Player in the Draft or What?

There was not a better pick. Inspire of the past draft history which really hasn't been that bad, this decision was Genius.

Re: So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

I have to admit that during the Blaine Gabbert/Cam Newton debate that started back in March and led up until two weeks before the draft, I was originally Pro-Gabbert. That's my best attempt at humble humility. I eventually decided Cam was our guy about 10 days before the draft. I was never on the Peterson or Darius bandwagons. I knew Clausen wasn't our guy, so it was QB or bust for me. I'm glad we made the right choice and I'm SOLD on Cam.

My favorite thing about all the pre-draft haters is that you don't hear ANYONE using the "SCam" Newton moniker anymore.

In Cam We Trust!

Re: So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

I was pretty vocal about wanting either Peterson or Gabbert. Mainly because I was concerned about Cam's ability to learn a complex offense. I am totally happy to say I could not have been more wrong about Cam! He has proven to be the exact answer to the problems the Panthers had. He is, in a word, ridiculous!!!

W-S Panther, I am planning on creating an image using the "In Cam We Trust" basically making a dollar, likely a high denomination bill with In Cam We Trust. Hopefully I can get a big banner made and have it at the game when I come home to visit...

Re: So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

Couple thoughts...

Nobody but nobody thought Newton was going to be able to do what he has hru 7 games...and it is probably a good thing that he was not trully considered a lock in being a great NFL QB...good that there was some doubt surrounding the dtafting of him as the #1 overall pick...cuz if there was not...I bet the Panthers would have traded the top pick for more draft picks...

If Luck had come out we wouldnt be haviong this post...cuz they had their hearts set on Luck...

Newton is doing 10 x's better than anyone ever predicted and some of his success is attributed to 89's ability to make the great catch in traffic...Newton gets the same benefit of playing with 89 just as Jake did...89 has caught some border line upcatchable balls from both Jake & Newton!!!

I have always said I just want the Panthers to get a nonstatue QB...a guy who can put the fear of $#@ into a defense with his ability to extend a play with his feet and to make something out of nothing...Newtons very first 3rd down play -v- Washington and his incredible 25 yd scramble...NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALK"EN ABOUT & THAN SOME!!!  :)

Re: So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

I was crushed when Luck decided to stay in school.  I looked at Gabbert and wasn't impressed.  I looked at Newton and was intrigued.  As the panthers talked to Newton and rumors started I pretty quickly jumped on the Newton bandwagon.  When I read that his first week at Auburn he asked several players to come work out with him and eventually a whole group of players joined those workouts.  Everybody at auburn insisted he was a natural leader and very hard worker.  That pretty much cemented it for me.  Laziness has been the downfall of many a talented QB prospect.  Cam is not lazy, not dumb and immensely talented he will redefine QB play.

Re: So at this point, CAM or LUCK? Who would be your Pick?

I was watching Trent Dilfer on M.N.Countdown last night and I swear the guy has the biggest man-crush on Cam I've seen yet. He went on and on about how (because of Cam) the QB position would never be the same. I also noticed while watching the bottom-line that Cam had the 5th best QBR of week 7 with 77.5. Ahead of him were Brees(97.2), Schaub(95.6), Rodgers(90.8), and Roethlisberger (89.9). That pretty good company to be in. And as far as I'm concerned, he can only get better.
