?...How many SB Champs...

Here is the question: How many Super Bowl Championship teams have shown a pass to run ratio of 40 passes to 20 runs? (I am ralking about their team average thru out the entire season...not simply in the SB game it self)

Without knowing for sure my guess would be perhaps 4 or 5...assuming the true blue record will reflect a heavier run over pass ratio...and/or at least a 50% run 50% pass balance...the next question becomes...Why in the hedoublehockeysticks is Rivera allowing Chud to throw the football so dag-gone much?????

The way I read it was, Rivera is pushing the pass this year in order to let Cam get as much experience as he can this year.

Re: ?...How many SB Champs...

I agree with the decision to let Cam throw especially since he has had success. Been a Panther since day one and tired of playing from behind all the time, always trying to "maintain" a lead. I like the strategy of score, score, score, then score some more. Chud has my vote to keep on keepin on! Now if we get a big lead and continue to throw, I might question that. Our running backs have disappeared lately anyway.

Panther fan from day one as well!!! Always will be!!!

Certainly a football fan much much longer!!!!

I am simply questioning the philosophy of being so pass happy...and ask the question about championship teams and their run/pass ratio's...I'm not totally sold on a 40/20 pass to run ratio...as a consistent way to win games and become a dominant team...

Have heard it a bunch lately in the news and NFL circles...mostly about Dallas...that statement being...look how much better Romo and Dallas is now that they have found a running game to support Romo...

I say look how much better Newton and the Panthers could be if they could support the QB more with a solid and consistent rushing attack...that means actually running the football and making it an important part of the gameplan!

Well when D-will falls down at the line of scrimmage every time he touches the ball its kinda hard to keep calling running plays. They need to give stew 25+ carries a game.

Re: ?...How many SB Champs...

25+ carries regardless of who the ball is handed off to would work wonders for the club and Newton IMO...

(LOL...guess growing up in Nebraska has created in me a deep appreciation for all that a effective running game can do for a football team)

Re: ?...How many SB Champs...

Yes the run game beats down opposing teams. A great example is against us=we get killed when teams run at us relentlessly. But I am also tired of this franchise always keeping every single game close by slowing the game down. If we build a substantial lead then yes it is a no brainer=run. But lets get a lead first, a big lead. Score, score, score then slow it down. I am excited about this new weapon we have in young Cam and he can play and put up big numbers. Think back 10 years, how many teams have we just blown out? Not many, we always play every game close no matter if we win or lose. Meanwhile, brady, brees, rivers, manning putting up big offensive numbers and hitting 30-40 every game. I just want some of that game, thats all Im sayin.
