Are we losing our indentiy

Is it just me or are we trying to became a pass first run second time dont get me wrong im excited that we now have a qb that has the arm to make plays down the field but i really dont know what were thinking we got to of the best to rb in the league with williams and stewart but it seems like were not using it to our advangte it seems i love that smith is getting his catches and reminding everybody why he is still one of the best wide reciever in the game but i want for us just to run the ball more we got the fire power to be blowing people out i think lafell should be the number 2 but thats a different story and what happen to us using edwards more he showed promise in the preseason but i hadnt seen him in a game expect on special teams i think we need to get back to what we do best run the ball down people throats and have cam go over the top to smith or olsen dont get me wrong althrough our record doesnt say much we got a group of core players to make a run at the playoffs for year to come long live PANTHER FOOTBALL

Re: Are we losing our indentiy

I wouldnt want to be a all-pro running back under chud...cuz I wouldnt be an all-pro running back under chud...cuz all-pro running backs under chud dont get the ball enough to be all-pro running backs!

I like chuds vertical attack passing offense...I'd like it even more if it featured 8-10 more runs per game and 8-10 less passes...cuz the vertical passing game would be even better if it was better supported with a run game!

chud will be an even better offensive coordinator...and one that helps to win more games when he figures out he needs to run the football more often!!!!

Re: Are we losing our indentiy

It is amazing how much you guys complain about the offense when the defense is so poor. SIMPLY AMAZING

What would make you happy? 50 points per game? 60? How about 70? 70 points per game, would that do it for you? How about top 2 offense? How about the #1 offense in the NFL?!!

Re: Are we losing our indentiy

THE 2011 PANTHER D IS TERRIBLE...THE WORST IN CLUB HISTORY!

There that said...it isnt about bashing the offense...what would make me HAPPY would be WINNING! And looking at the team as is...crummy D and all and than doing what needs to be done to position the team to have the best chance at WINNING! And #1 on that list would be to help keep the young and nicked up Panther D off the field. That can best be accomplished by running the ball 8-10 more times a game and thus burning more clock...which in turn can help to limit the number of offensive possesions the Panther opponents have...that can in turn give the Panther opposition less time to produce yet another last minute scoring drive in the last 2 minutes of a game.

I could care less about scoting 50-60-70 pts per game...I rather just WIN & i'm comfortable in my opinion to say that if the Panthers had a 55%-45% run-pass ration or even a 50-50% balanced ratio they could be 6-4, 5-5 or 4-6 at minimum! Burn the clock and attempt to keep the crummy Panther D off the field and the Panthers have much better opportunity to WIN!

Re: Are we losing our indentiy

I couldn't point to the exact article, but I read an interview somewhere in which Rivera pretty much stated that this season was about getting Cam as much experience as possible.  Nobody would ever admit it, and certainly these guys would all love to be winning, but I think this is being viewed as a reset year.  I think next year we will see a lot more running and more of the Panthers true identity.  I think this identity will be different from the Fox era identity, but its hard to imagine that it won't include more running (hopefully behind a line with Gross at right tackle and Matt Kalil at left).

Re: Are we losing our indentiy

Read the same article...after cleaning up the puke...I burned the article. At all times, IMO the Panthers should be associated with winning...if pass-pass-pass is the most significant MO for the 2011 season...and it sure seems to be the case I simply say TOTALLY DISSAPPOINTING and CONTRARY TO DEVELOPING A WINNING MENTALITY!

Once again you have taken the words right out of my mouth.  You and I have preached this all season long Cornhusker to deaf and dumb ears on this site that lack any comprehension of football intelligence. A more balanced attack offensively would sustain drives, increase the time of possession, control field position, and lead to more points.  All of those things would help the worst defense in the NFL that the Panthers currently employ.  I just don't understand why its so hard for some people to understand.  I guess its just like the home crowd at BoA that screams and cheers loudly for the Panthers on offense when any 3rd or 4th down play is attempted and sit on their hands when the Panthers are on defense - No Football Intelligence (FBI).
