More questionsOkay, I get it. The Eagles are a preseason favorite for the superbowl, for some. As I sit here watching the Bears/Packers play, both teams' recievers are alot faster than we are. It seems to me that we are just a slow team when it comes to passing. We need more speed recievers to make better cuts away from coverage. Why can't/won't Jake check off or audible for a quick slant when he sees a blitz formation? Or maybe go to a shotgun formation? Then again, is he even seeing the defense? I mean Jake is as mobile as a piano. Can't the O-Line recognize blitz and adjust accordingly? Did the Eagles pick Leman's brain that much? To be this bad 2 games in a row means we are just too predictable. I think we were outcoached today. A loss is a loss but today was just flat out embarrassing!! Just venting fellas!! |

Re: More questionsI watched the high lights on NFLcom-and if you watch on all of jake's picks there is a check off man most of the time it was deangelo wide open in the middle or a tight end up the middle or on the sides-I do not think that jake knows how to read coverages at all well its almost like he just slings passes up even though the receiver is double covered-At least mat moore can read the field i dont think he is the answer at QB though he has looked shakey when hes in there and he threw a nasty INT today-I really dont know what to think right now at least we have 15 more games |

Re: More questionsWE don't have much choice but to keep rolling with Jake. McCown is hurt, and Moore just isn't an NFL starting QB. Jake can be good at times, and I think the coaching staff has to take some of the blame too. They abandon the run and kind of set Jake up for failure with some of the plays they call. The guy is not a huge wide open offense type passer. He makes his money on the play action bomb and a whole lot of handoffs. Trying to run complex read based routes with a bunch of stuff over the middle and going three and four deep on reads has never been his game. Let the RBs do the work, shorten the game, play field position, and limit mistakes. Get the deep ball when the defense gives it to you. That is how the Panthers win games, and unless they stick to that format, we will continue to be in these forums beating our heads against the wall. |
