Offensive Line, people!

Why is it that when Jay Cutler throws 3 interceptions it is because he's been hit so many times and it throws off his rhythm, but when Jake throws them its because he sucks?  What I saw today was a line that couldn't hold and an Eagles secondary in great coverage.  When Jake got pulled, then McCown got injured, maybe it woke up the line.  They did a little better with Moore, but still not great.  If we go after Garcia it's only because we want somebody who can run away.  I need to see an improved offensive line.  An get off Jakes back for something that isn't completely his fault.

Re: Offensive Line, people!

That may be the stupidest thing ever written. Jake is garbage. Cuttler at least got traded to a new team, has to adjust to a new offense, and has fewer weapons than he did in Denver. Jake has the same team and playbook, which he shouldve learned by now. And maybe it's telling that the line played for Moore. Jake sucked the life out of the team. Maybe they don't trust him and don't want to play for him anymore.

Re: Offensive Line, people!

I don't think the point was that Jake should be let off the hook for every mistake he has ever made. I believe if I am not mistaken that Charlottean wanted to bring light to the fact that while he made some terrible mistakes during the game, his pass protection and lack of a running game outside of the first drive did nothing to improve the situation. Chicago is having the same problems with the Packers, but since both teams are having this problem, it's no longer the quarterbacks fault but the O-lines fault. To say that this has anything to do with the playbook and nothing to do with the lack of a cohesive pocket to throw from is silly and implying that the O-line has some hidden agenda to let Jake get hit and give Moore the starting job is puerile.

Re: Offensive Line, people!

There is something called pocket presence. Jake doesn't have any of it. Every QB would love to throw with no one on him but that doesn't happen. Jake had a clear pocket when Smith was going across the middle and threw the ball behind him, he had enough room to throw the deep ball that was wayyyy underthrown to Smith that was then intercepted by Samuel. What about the interception that Jake threw to the Eagles' DL?? He had no business trying to throw that to Williams, although it wasn't even close to Williams. The fumble for a TD wasn't the OL fault. Jake loves to hold the ball out in the open. Jake is lucky he doesn't have to come back to BOA until week 5. Can't believe he got that extension. We should of saved that money for an extension for D Will.

Actually at the start of the game Jake's pocket presence avoided several sacks as he kept plays alive with his legs.  Only Michael Vick (and maybe not even him) could have avoided the majority of pressure our O-Line gave up to the Eagles defense today.

Not the O-Line's fault?  ROFL.  So their job is to let Blitzers come through un-touched?  I'd like to see you take a snap when you know you have about 1 second to make a decision and read the defense b/c the line in front of you sucks.

We could have patched up the weakness our line has in Kalil and Vincent but Fox is too bad and stupid of a coach to adjust his game plan.

Jake went into desperation mode, yes, but our O-line needs so major upgrades if Fox doesn't want to sacrifice our tight end on blitzes  for another back to cover up their mistakes.
