McGrib, I agree that outside of Stephen Davis and Shockey, we've struck out in FA with big names over the years, but I'm not really talking about big names. Ergo the Red Bryant mentioning. We need to treat FA like we do the draft. BPA, but players with high character and that are at the right price.

I personally wouldnt mind having another DT in Red Bryant, cause with our recent history you can never havse enough defensive lineman.  But it is only if it makes sense financialy , and with our current cap situation I dont see that happening.  The only big movse we may make is resigning Shockey.  Anything past that will be via free agancy.  Please dont get your hopes up on free agents that play maybe 1 good year for us then end up being a bust.  I remember we signed Maake Kemoeatu and Ken Lucas the same year.  Kemo got hit with the injury bug, but Ken Lucas left Carolina looking like burnt toast that thats all he did was get burnt especially in 2007.  Draft Draft Draft that is how you get better.  I just wish Carolina would look more at the smaller schools for talent, cause there is always a diamond in the rough.

Perhaps NO WR Meachum??? I know he has hurt the Panthers as a WR...but I am not 100% certain it was his WR skills or Gambles missed tackles on him!!??!!

But he would be a good pickup IMO!
