Re: Plaxico the Panther.....OMG PLEASE!!!! This would be a great fit IMO!! Smith has previously stated many times that he would love the opportunity to return to the slot, and this would create the perfect opportunity with the size and speed of Burress commanding attention on the outside.

Re: Plaxico the Panther.....The only real great thing about this possibility is that he's desperate for a team. Vet minimum and an escalator for performance would be a done deal. But do we want him? As a TEAM that is. Would he fit the playbook? Would the playbook have to change for his presence and alter what we've been working on? Those would be my issues. We don't need a Me-shawn Davis in the lockerroom, and I don't think he'd be one, but we brought him in and didn't get a sufficient performance/value ratio. |

Re: Plaxico the Panther.....And of course our organization has already announced they are not interested. I just don't get that at all. We will bring in a STs guy for the same price with no where near the upside but won't even look at a RZ stud? I mean 8 TDs is more than worth vet min. You are worried about a guys development that may or may not pan out over your teams needs. Just think if four FGs last year were TDs we have ten wins instead of six. That's what this move is about turning FGs into TDs which is supposedly a major focus for us. I like our young guys but a proven commodity is a proven commodity. He showed he could take a year off and still play at a high level at least RZ wise.
