Pass defense is the combination of coverage & pressure! These 2 things are interwhined together! often a interception is the by-product of the pass rush and often the sack is the by-product of tight coverage!

Pressure can force a poor throw by a QB = interception
Tight coverage can force the QB to hold the ball a extra second = sack

I maybe wrong but I think all the sack the Panthers had in the 1st half--I think the CB's were playing a tighter coverage!

Than they dont mesh the combination of tight coverage = better pressure in the last series of the game!
