Re: CoachingThey will not get rid of reid. He is a great coach, best in the league BUT no ring. I don't see them, as ruthless as they are, getting rid of him. They have been in the playoffs almost every year so he probably stays. I didn't like the cowher talk 2 years ago but now look at it more from a desperation stance in that we need someone who wants to win. I question Rivera's intensity and drive. Cowher can spit with the best of them. Never thought it was a sexy choice since he only won one super bowl and missed the playoffs many years. But I'm willing to try him out now. Don't like gruden; and dungy, while a great man IMO, is as intense as a mouse. Sounds like we need to blow it up again and start over. This is getting annoying... |

Re: CoachingI get why u say that...but intensity and commanding the respect of a team as well as a proven plan to get things done are not the simple measure of how much a person is jumping around on the sideline. I base my support for a guy like Dungy based off of the number(s) of former players who swear by the guy and his ability to lead a team. I do think The Chin would be much much better than a fellow like A Reid however. |

Re: CoachingIt blows me away that the organization would hire a HC who must go thru the process of figuring out how to be a HC (what in the hedoublehockeysticks are these day long+ interviews all about?) But it is apparent that in as much as Rivera has always talked about this team being in process of developing---he was subconsciously talking about himself as a HC!!!! If Rivera really take charge of this team and puts a stamp of physical play as the cornerstone of his coaching philosophy on this team over the next 9 games...and the club Wins 5 of the next 9....I would be in favor of giving him one more season....rather than starting all over again!
