Panther Secondary

Foremost I must say that #41 is proving me wrong. He is surely holding his own and playing much better as a starter than I thought possible!

That combination of coverage and pressure has been nice!

Aside from that Chicago 2 minute drill nightmare...which most would agree primarily the result of coaching coverage calls...this secondary has been playing very well as of late!

If fact IMO they have not missed Chris "To tackle or not to tackle-that is the question" Gamble much at all...

I wonder if #20 was a part of that lack of veteran leadership that ex GM M Hurney was reffering too? Cuz I am not so certain the DB's have not in point of fact, played better as a whole w/o Gamble?

Thoughts????

Re: Panther Secondary

I know people disagree with me, but, I have never been a Gamble fan. To be honest, I forgot he wasn't out there! There's still some growing to do back there, but the Washington game was a big boost for the db's.

Re: Panther Secondary

The real test comes Sunday.  Peyton Manning feasts on secondary mistakes, so our DBs need to stay focused, play hard, and do their jobs!!  Shutting Manning down is damn near impossible, but if we can force FGs instead of TDs, and somehow block Von Miller, we have a shot at winning this game.

Re: Panther Secondary

That dude is a beast. We can give manning fits and make his wideouts really work. My concern is coverage with their TE's. He is so precise he can eat us up across the middle, kind of like what cutler did with marshall but with big bruisers. I like Captain's skills right now too, but when he is expected to drop back with a bigger wideout or te, it's a long day. He is so tiny.

Re: Panther Secondary

Hope to see Manning spend a bunch of time as a helpless observer from the Denver bench = 75/25% Panther run-pass ratio with a occassional big passing play out of the PAP game!

Control the football period!

I hope to H E double that Chud doesnt try n get cute with reverse thinking play calling...they will think we will run to manage the clock so we are gonna pass like there is no tomorrow!!!!
Start and stick with the running game Chud! Or Manning could pick the D apart...and your coaching career as a Panther OC will have very few tomorrows!!! Use the best formula for beating a Manning lead team...keep him on the bench for long time periods!!!!
