Next coachI have no strong feelings for any particular coach currently. I am interested in Mangini. I don't think he got a fair shot at New York or Cleveland. I hope he would be like Belichick not having a lot of success in his first job but having learned from his first job and succeeding when give another chance. I thought New England was crazy to hire Belichick but it was obviously the right move. I think Mangini might be same situation. By the way I realize we need a GM first i just have more to say about coaching prospects. |

Re: Next coachI'm a huge fan of Gruden's because of what he could possibly do for Cam...and he is a no bullshit kinda coach! |

Re: Next coachAt least he would provide some excitement on the sidelines instead of just standing there looking completley lost! |

Re: Next coachPretty much! Rivera is a good guy, but he is too laid back to coach this team. |

Re: Next coachMangini has a great football head and really knows his stuff, but I don't know that he has the grit I want to see in the locker room, Gruden would be great for Cam, but I'm not sold on him as a head coach. Together, they would make a great HC! Hey, there's an idea! |

Re: Next coachYes excitement on the sidelines is not what we need. We need genius, game adjustment and intensity with players one on one. It don't matter you are not an offensive coach, get in their face! Not familiar with special teams? So what-chew em out right quick! Kick someone in the butt. Someone wrote an article about Oregon's coach being an ideal candidate for us. He knows offense and right now my vote is for an offensive minded coach who can score points with Cam and Co. If we draft an O lineman and stout TE or WR 1 and 2, we should be good. Then fill in at DB and DL. Our defense, when healthy, can play despite injuries to our captain. It's enough to get us a win at least. But when you cannot convert on third downs, you will never see success. We aren't the bears who can rely on a ST or D touchdown every single game. Dipping into the college ranks is risky but just maybe what we need right now! |
