Re: 2013 Season

I freaking love Greg Hardy!  He is the vocal attitude that this team has needed for a while!!

Re: 2013 Season

Honestly, after giving it some thought I'm thinking 11 and 5. I think we go 3 and 1 against the AFC east, 2-2 against the NFC west, 2-0 against the Giants and Vikes, and 4-2 in the division.

Re: 2013 Season

I'm hoping for 19-0 baby (I'm not in a very realistic mood today)

after what happened last year.  My hopes were sky high, and my heart was ripped out by all those tough losses
I'm with you on this so it is hard for me to say definitively.  I think we are going to end up leaning on some unproven commodities this year and because fo that I can only give my opinion in terms of a ceiling and floor.

If this is true (especially that very last line!!!):

Q: How about on defense?
“Mike Mitchell has kind of separated himself from the other strong safety candidates and has done a really nice job. You see a guy like that grow and get better. We saw it on tape; we thought this is what he could become. He’s got the tools. Now (like Edwards) will he do it on game-time?
“You look at the whole defensive line. That unit as a whole, there’s not a slouch in that bunch. All those guys have an opportunity. We know the obvious ones but even the younger guys, the newer guys – (defensive end Louis) Nzegwu, (defensive end Craig) Roh, (defensive tackle Casey) Walker. These are young guys battling for a spot. They’re long shots but they’re coming and showing progress. If I had to pick a (defensive) MVP I would pick the entire line.”

Then I say 11-5 is our ceiling

If not then I say our floor is 7-9.  If we have the luck that ATL had last year and NO had the year before then I say 12-4 is possible.  Knowing our luck recently and if I was pinned down to say then I will go with 9-7 and missing the playoffs again.

Re: 2013 Season

I've been away for a while.  Is everything up and running?  I miss all the guys.  I'm ready for the season to start and I was so impressed last night by our top two draft choices and Kuechly!

Re: 2013 Season

Agreed, Kuechly was unstoppable. But after watching the offense through three preseason games I am seriously revising the 11-5 prediction. Seattle is gonna beat the snot out of us unless we can generate some serious offensive production. Or am I overreacting to vanilla preseason schemes and injuries?

Re: 2013 Season

I don't remember last preseason but I remember during Cam's first preseason he looked very ordinary and then put together the best 1st season in history.  I hope it is just the coaching staff not wanting to show anything in preseason.  Yasinskas has said the schemes in preseason practices were much more intricate and effective than what we have done in preseason this year.  I hope the o-line can get their act together.  I wonder if Travelle Wharton has heard from Gettleman after last nights debacle.
