He was not fired. He left on his own. There is a big difference. I do not think for one moment that Jerry Richardson fired his sons before the season in a move to clean house at the end of the season.
There have been a lot of rumors that Mark was full of himself and not very popular with people in the organization.  He apparently has fought with his brother Jon for years (at least 15 from what I read) and Dad had finally had it and told him to have his resignation on his desk by Monday.  Jon and Marks bickering had apparently forced employees to take sides and was seen as divisive to the overall organization.  Jon was planning on resigning but Mark was probably told to.

Re: Is firing Mark Richardson the beginning?

science hell, you guys can talk bad, you can talk good, you can throw up whatever stat you want to help prove whatever point you want, what it all boils down to is this"the unhappy fans far outnumber the happy fans, and we're louder" it may not be this year it may not be next, but when it comes time to extend fox's contract it won't happen,i really don't know what to think about hurney as a gm i don't like him as a cap guru i do,i would like to keep him as a cap numbers cruncher but nothing more than that.

You can't argue with science.

Well JRich would be stupid to fire the 2nd winningest coach in the NFC with current tenure (since 2002). It ain't gonna happen folks-get over it. Hurney makes smart draft decisions for the most part. Just because they don't do EVERYTHING you want them to do doesn't mean they need to go. The old man knows football and football business.
