Re: Ron MeeksI tend to worry when the word simple is used in conbination with NFL and Defense. Seems like most NFL offense would be able to scheme such a simpleton concept. I understand the notion that a simple D lets great athletes go make plays...but the O has great players as well and if the O knows what to expect from the D situationally well to me that becomes advantage offense.

Re: Ron MeeksI thought about this on my walk into work today. After watching the game last night I don't think it is was Meeks or the D's fault in Indy with all those bad ratings. Manning scores so fast and puts his D on the field after about 2 minutes of rest and does it all game long. His Defense was on the filed for a full three quarters last night. So since Manning can not sustain a long drive (time wise) his D gets winded.

Re: Ron MeeksThose are two of the better Offenses in the league so I am sure they were effective from beginning to end. The Dolphins had a pretty good game plan last night if it were not the Colts anyone else would have been crushed by that gameplan but it was the Colts and they lost. |

Re: Ron MeeksAm all in for for being patient and hoping the best for Meeks and the Panther D...I just don't quite grasp the notion as to why....when you have pro players who are able to put a 40-50 hrs work week into football and football only...why wouldn't you want to run a more comprehensive/multiple attack style of defensive play...one that is less predictable and more confusing for an offense to pin point...this is the highest level of football in the world---a coach has the players...really year around challenge them to learn more than just a simple D....i am certain the Jets put some extra time into mgt'ings to be able and prepared to run the D they are running...???? |

Re: Ron Meekslet's not lay it all on Foxy....Hurley or hurly or whatever the name shares a great deal of responsibility - giving Peppers 16 million dollars for one year....we could have bought a lot of good defensive and offensive help with that kind of money and I haven't been impressed with Peppers play so far in this young season! For 16 million he should be leaping tall buildings, stopping locomotives and catching bullets in his teeth!! |

Re: Ron MeeksI think Fox is correct in that injuries have played a major roll in the defense not being ready. However, as the leader of the team it his responsibility to pick the right coordinators, assistants and players to overcome adversity. Injuries are part of football.
