Jerry Richardson's head coachJerry Richardson played for Weeb Ewbank. Weeb won NFL championships, as well as AFL and Super Bowl championships. He is described as building the Colts and Jets the same way around a top-flight QB. He is credited with being very systematic in building his teams but the QB was the important part. Unitas and Namath are the 2 QB's that Weeb coached to championships. I believe Jerry Richardson needs to think about how his NFL coach built his team. Both teams had excellent running games and excellent QB's. We haveto get a franchise QB. We drafted Collins and while that could have turned out better I think we have to try to draft one high again. Weinke was a fourth round pick, have we ever since Collins drafted any QB in the first 2 rounds. I seriously think we need to figure out who we can trade to get to the top this year and take Bradford. I realize it is a big gamble but without an elite QB you are most likely doomed to 8-8, 9-7 and maybe the occasional 12-4 season. I am frustrated that an ex wide receiver has not figured out the importance of the QB position. Why was it a priority in our first draft and none since then? |

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachObviously a very intelligent ex player thinks he has his man. Who are we to argue? |

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachI'm afraid that man will not win more super bowls than any team in history. I want our team to be the envy of every team in the league. I want kids growing up now to dream of playing for the panthers the same way kids grew up dreaming of playing for the cowboys, steelers, and redskins. |

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachWe could possibly trade Peppers to a team that has defensive needs that is in the top 5 if it works out that way...not sure I would give away too many more future 1st rnd draft picks for one.

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachalso not sure if any QB's would be available next yr in free agency but that could be a wayto go as well...we dont have a 1st rnd pick so they are gonna have to get rid of one or two guys to go after some folks...noone will take Jake due to his play and the size of his contract and we are locked in with him for like 5 yrs(?)...not sure what can be done with this you are almost stuck with that...so may need to go with WR's,TE's,OLmen,DLmen,secondary...alot of different needs right now...maybe JD needs a QB coach to come in and work with him..could be mechanics or something...when JD is good he is awesome when he is bad he is very bad...maybe he just needs like a mental coach or something...not trying to be funny alot of athletes use them when playing bad...I think w/e it is in jakes noggin now.

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachSo you are saying intelligent people can't be wrong? Or you saying WE are not up to the same intelligence standard of an ex NFL player to differ with him? Cause I really dont get your comment. Most times they are really good but sometimes they just dont make sense. No offense you are still cool and all I'm just saying. |

Re: Jerry Richardson's head coachyou got that right,i'll take it a step further and say "i wasnt the rest of the league saying"how do we keep those panthers out of the playoffs this year?",but they don't only teams such as the colts, patriots, and steelers are viewed that way,if we don't make the playoffs it's to be expected, however when we do make the playoffs the league shakes it's head and says...what? |
