Re: Official FIre John Fox threadWell I think we need a different direction on the offense and need to tighten up the D. But I would not fire a coach in the middle of the season and if I could avoid it, I would not try to can the season after only 3 games.

Re: Official FIre John Fox threadYou are correct and thank for pointing it out to me. We already traded our #1 pick before we traded for DT from Browns. 49ers will get our #1 pick in 2010. We traded our #7 for Josh McGown who didn't make the 53-men rosters. The trade for DT is for undisclosed draft pick so it looks like we will have just 4 picks in 2010 unless we get a supplement draft. So want to tell me why you thought it was NOT stupid to keep Peppers around?? What was so smart about holding on to him and pay him about 20% of the 2009 salary cap? How is keeping him helping us being 0-3?? Care to enlight us all as we are really curious why you did not think it was stupid?? In my strong opinion, we are really better off letting Peppers go, but guess what? Because we are stuck with him, we can not acquire some of good veteran players that is available in the Free Agent market such as Derrick Brooks, Mark Jones (Titans re-signed him this week and admitted it was a mistake letting him go). Mark Jones and Ken Lucas are few key players who had to be let go because of Peppers. Know what really would be interesting?? At end of the season, Peppers says he wants out of Carolina and then see Carolina Panthers decide if they want to franchise tag him again and pay him $22 Million Dollars (IF NFL and NFLPA come to term with CBA). Do you think Panthers will still hold on to him and risk losing more key players or do you think Panthers will finally smart up and let him go?? I hope Peppers doesn't insist on leaving Carolina after this season because if he does then Panthers will be laughingstock in the NFL. |
