I forgot to add one more thing.  I was trying to explain my point here that if we had decided to trade Peppers away for two 2nd round (2009 and 2010) then it would be more practical because it gives us a leverage in draft.  Do you have any idea how many teams are really NOT wanting to have 1st round because they will be stuck with paying unproven rookie megamillion dollars contract.  I mean, look at 49ers as they are in standstill with negiotating Michael Crabtree because Crabtree is demanding too much as a unproved rookie. 

By having double 2nd rounds in 2009 and 2010, we can pick more players and pay them less than what 1st round normally get or we might be able to trade up for 1st round real quick if there is somebody we have eye on and the team want to give up their 1st round (If the deal is right).

If we had gone with this avenue, we would be doing exactly what Dallas Cowboys did in early 90's and what Steelers are doing by going with many young players and develop around them.  Peppers is about to reach the age where he will soon be out of his Prime and he is starting to watch out for himself by using his leverage to "Pay me or else".  We probably would have gotten two Everette Brown or three if we had more picks.
