Fire Ron Meeks thread...Okay, guys, I know we're all pi$$ed about the utter embarrassment (it wasn't a loss, it was an embarrassment) of last night. But to throw Jake under the bus is wrong. Smitty, of all players, admittedly caused that game-killing INT. Jake's protection broke down. We couldn't run the ball for shi+. And now to my point...

Re: Fire Ron Meeks thread...If a defensive coordinator needs to teach tackling then something is WRONG!!!! That should be fundamental. It was painfully obvious that Meeks scheme had players in position to make plays for stops and losses. The only thing is that requires TACKLING!!!!!!! Which he must have forgot to tell them about. lol. Even in the first half when the D was doing really well they still had tackling issues and in the second half those became full blown problems. I do believe the focus needs to be on D more but I do not think it is scheme more so execution. Getting a DT and Harris back will help some of this and tackling drills for pros it seems will hopefully help the rest. |

Re: Fire Ron Meeks thread...Just more fairweather talk. I've heard nothing but positives about the Tampa 2-it's won many a super bowls and we can pull it off. It just takes time. Coupled with injuries, we have to hang it up this year. We will look for depth on our D line next year and for another qb and start over. Meeks will do, he just needs some fire out there and for guys to be healthy. |

Re: Fire Ron Meeks thread...I'd say that if we can have a defense like the one that played the first half of the game, then crown Ron Meeks or whoever decided to start blitzing because it worked and it worked well.

Re: Fire Ron Meeks thread...Yep that had to be Fox all the way Danger. Get the lead and no more aggressiveness and no more hard hitting D no matter how well it was working. You guys complain bc Fox does not make adjustments???? This is why I laugh at you. I complain bc he makes too many sometimes. |

Re: Fire Ron Meeks thread...One word...tackling, tackling, tackling. Did ya'll see Godfrey lose his shoes on that cut back? I felt bad for him, his kids are gonna get picked on at school today-haha. Did you see Captain bouncing off runners like he was trying NOT to tackle them? The only one playing with heart out there right now is Thomas Davis. Beason lowers his shoulder too but he is trying to do too much and it's stressing him out-not good for a second year vet. I think our D was mystified by the scoreboard last night because they were looking up the whole night instead of hitting and tackling. |
