As long as he is healthy for the season I think he is just what the doctor ordered.

Re: Is Hollis Thomas the answer to turn the D around?

The defenisive "problem" goes way beyond signing another DT. This is just Fox blowing smoke for the real problem of the 3 and out, pass happy offense that cant seem to put points on the board & always puts the D in a terrible position along with special teams. I criticize & blame the offense because they have the same starters from last year, they have the same offensive coordinator, this is the same unit that went 12-4 and scored 30 TD's. Its obvious when this team gets pass happy, they lose. The real problem is Fox or whoever is making the play calling.

30 TDs?  Or 47 TDs?  Not a very good reporter are you?  lol.  And I would say execution has been the biggest issue.  The calls are looking correct but the drop passes, and wrong routes, and WRs not looking for the ball or pulling the go route after a play breaks down, and the missed assignments on the line on offense.  And then the huge holes allowed on D (DT injuries come into play here), missed tackles, missed tackles, missed tackles, and the missed tackles on the Defensive side all spell out poor execution.  If it is mental then Fox has to get it in their heads that it needs to be fixed now.  So yes Fox is responsible but not at fault.  The players need to step up BIG TIME!!!!

Re: Is Hollis Thomas the answer to turn the D around?

I would agree with you reporter that our defense need our offense to start playing like they were last year because its much easier to play defense when we are ahead then behind. With the offense we have we should win everygame that the defense hold's the opp. offense to 13 points.

Jay, although I would agree that it is execution for the most part, you have to admit that it makes no sense to through a deep post to Moose.  He can't beat anyone and we didn't bring him back to do that.  If you are gonna run that play, you gotta go to smitty.  We have run that play once a game and each time we have its been 2 incompletions and an INT.

Both of you made excellent points, and why IMO all sides of the ball are at fault for why we're sitting at 0-3. The offense is not executing, especially on pass plays. The O-Line seems to be inconsistent in both pass protection & run blocking. WRs are dropping balls, the QB is turning it over, plus not so great play calling = way to many 3 & outs. & the D just looks sad. They're not wrapping guys up, I thought coaches said no arm tackling way back in pop warner. The secondary isn't coming up to provide help for LBs in the passing game. We're giving up way to many rushing yards, seemed like Dallas could run the ball at will in the 2nd half. Which brings me to the playcalling. Why the hell would you stop blitzing in the 2nd half, when it was working great in the 1st half? & the Tampa 2 is obviously not working that great, except for when we blitz. Also, Jake shouldn't throw it more than 30 times a game.(This is hwne JayJ starts arguing with me) We need to pound the ball and play smash mouth football, come on Foxy thats what you do best. One more thing, Special Teams has played worse than anybody. They dont block, they dont tackle, and they just plain suck. From the punter to the snapper (JayJ reference again LOL)
