Re: Trading for a DTSometimes I wonder if interior linemen who are supposed to play in a certain formation couldn't just play in another...4-3...3-4. Does it REALLY matter when it comes to this position? I know I will get some flack but come on, if you are a run stuffer, then you are a run stuffer. If you are constantly taking double teams then someone else is there to bust heads. I don't understand the big deal taking someone from 3-4 to 4-3. With other positions it IS important. |

Re: Trading for a DTWell it matters only because, in a two gap system where the DT/NT in the 3-4 has to hold the middle, he is responable to hold out the two gaps on either side of the center. Some 4-3 DT's can do that aka Kris Jenkins, but that said some 4-3 DT's can't aka Corey Williams. All DT's that play should have the ability to hold one gap but few have the ability to hold two gaps.

Re: Trading for a DTAfter watching the game last night I retract my previous post and feel that Hurney needs to trade for a DT ASAP!!! |

Re: Trading for a DTWilliams is probably the best bet. He's got some good skills and he's reasonably young. I'd be willing to pay a 4th rounder or so to get him since we'll probably trade away the 2011 1st rounder for some more picks in next years draft. |
