I would say they are playing it safe. We have a new HB that will get some play time and that is a good thing. We will see however...

i am sure they are playing it safe and besides Goodson has been very impressive in camp so there's no rush. Didnt he go through a similar situation last year with his toe? I think he turned out pretty well by the regular season, so im not concerned YET.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't think the Smitty inj and Stewarts Heel are comparable.  First, Smitty's shoulder inj was a deep bone bruis, which is basically a pain and nothing else.  If it feels good then the inj is gone.  Its not the same as Stewarts heel.  The guy is running on that thing all day long and if it is sore there is no need to push him when he is 2nd on the depth chart and we are not playing any games that mean anything for another month.  I would rather them rest the guy and give his inj time to fully heel than push him too hard and he get taken out for the year in a meaningless preseason game when they forced him to come back to quickly.  Besides 89 probably won't play tonight.  My guess is that if Smitty had inj his heel he wouldn't play durring the preseason at all.
