I don't think it's really fair to call Jackson a bust. It's only his 2nd year.
I agree. Let him be Smitty's understudy this year. No one expected Smith to be anything more then a PR/4th receiver when he came out. It's not like we could do any worse....

Re: new signing at wr...

hmmm...I don't claim to know exactly how things work or if I understood the first post correctly...but it does seem that if we reached a last minute agreement with a KR, we might need that guy to be in town studying instead of tailgating at the App game.

Not saying it's not true.  Just that it's 10am Sunday now and I still can't find anything on this.  Should've been an easy league minimum deal.  Afterall, he is an unemployeed FA second year player that was cut by Tampa Bay.

Re: new signing at wr...

Asked a Tampa fan about this online and got this response about Dexter:

"poor kid couldn't find his feet, and couldn't take a hit

it was like his cleats didn't fit or something, never panned out.  his speed wasn't an issue, if it was a track meet"

Well, now that Moore appears to have stepped up in the return department, hopefully it'll be an non-issue.

Looks like the thread starter was right.

Re: new signing at wr...

I am sure he is a good kid and deserves another shot, but he does not come with a glowing endorsement:

http://blogs.tampabay.com/bucs/2009/08/bucs-release-dexter-jackson.html

"Admitting one of the worst decisions in the team's draft history, the Bucs confirmed they have released receiver Dexter Jackson, their second-round pick in 2008.
...
The Bucs reached for Jackson because Jon Gruden wanted a speedy kick return speciliast. Unfortunately, it's not a role that Jackson had even excelled at during his career at Appalachian State.
Jackson played in just seven regular season games and averaged 23.4 yards per kickoff and only 4.9 yards per punt return."

So I hope it's just that he didn't get a fair chance.
