Still waiting Pamlico_Panther.  If you're gonna talk smack to me, at least don't run and hide after you do it.  What's your argument?

Clearly you arent' familiar with my positions or my long standing support of Jake.  So before I ignore every one of your future posts, please tell me what statement I made that indicates that I know nothing about football.

Gotcha friend.  Thought that seemed odd.

I don't think you can ever blame bad fans and local media for Jakes performance.  Jake is ultimately responsible.  But there is a kernel of truth to what you are suggesting.  Clearly Jake has suffered a psychological collapse, if you will, after the loss to Arizona.  Don't get me wrong, he was never the greatest QB or the most rock solid QB mentally to begin with.  For years I said that if Jake threw an early pick, he'd throw them all day long.  I pointed at this as a sign that he was probably too emotional to be an NFL QB .  But, this same emotion that was a detriment is what gave him the spark to lead our team to multiple come from behind wins.  It was sort of a double edged sword, and as a team we accepted it because he won more than he lost.  I for one stated just last year in an article I wrote for another board, that I didn't care if he never won another ballgame...jake was the man I wanted at QB.   Now...I said this never expecting that this would nearly come true.   I thought then (and to some extent still think) that for all Jake has done for this organization and community he is a man that I am proud to support.  And I am.  But it has come a time when Fox has an obligation to the other players on the team.  To Smitty, to DWill, to Beason...To Moose.

When I said that the coach had done the organization AND Jake a dis-service, what I meant was...the continued cycle of failure could only further damage the injured psyche that is partially to blame for Jake not being able to recover from that Arizona game.  Certainly, the added pressure from fans and local media didn't help him "get his groove back", but he was given ample time.  He was given a pass for the Philly game.  The subsequent games he has only been held accountable for the mistakes that HE made.  As unfair as it may seem, it is not the fan's responsibility to provide the same unwavering support that I'm sure he received from his family and his teammates.

The only OTHER possible explanation for Jake's continued failure that I can accept is that new arm of his.  There does seem to be alot of overthrown balls.  Is there something about his arm post surgery that is causing this?    I don't think so, but I'll accept that answer if it's the one they want to give.

Re: A question to Jake fans

Professional players should never let the fans affect them it is not pee-wee.  If Jake told Fox or Richardson I played bad because some fans booed me they would laugh him out of the room.  Part of the reason they get paid ridiculous amounts of money is for their ability to block out everything and concentrate on the game.  If the fans bother Jake then he is not the team leader he gets credit for being.  About Poor jake well I'm thankful for his good years of service and I would keep him around for PR give him a announcing job or something but I wouldn't let him earn his 20 mil on the field.
