They gave the extension to Delhomme because they needed to restructure for capp reasons.  We couldn't just let peppers walk out the door.  I'm sure they tried to trade him, but who really knows.  As far as gross, he just made his first probowl and was named all-pro.  Would they have liked to pay him less?  H**l yea, but you don't let a guy that good that doesn't get injured walk out the door just to replace him with someone who isn't nearly as good.  I think you are forgetting that we had over 2300yds rushing last year.  The only way that happens is if you have a D@mn good o-line.   

You have to look at this from a realistic perspective. Who are we gonna to replace these guys if we let them walk.

The latter of what you said.  Not sure what happened but this years picks all got signed!  And look like they may make the team and help out too!  Maybe this should be an every year thing.  lol
