I missed that part and you're right, that just makes this even more unbelievable. Arizona fans just got even more excited. Not to mention that they have the #1 rushing defense right now.

Duh.  This isn't news, this is business as usual

Why even talk about it on Sunday or Monday,  I mean, what can a back up do at this point in 2 days that has not been done already?  What is left to see in practice or on tape?  Did Jake just promise to try harder, to become something he never was( a good QB)?  Whatever.


Maybe we will get to see a back up in trash time Sunday.

After hearing the news I have to admit I was a bit shocked, but the more I think about it the better I feel about it. 

I look at it like this- we are 2-4 and there are 4 teams in the NFC that are not division winners that have at least 1 more win than us and a much easier schedule-so we are all but mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs.  Delhomme has not been the same since the playoff loss to AZ.  He has had 6 games to right the ship, but has not been able to do so.  There is no reason for us to win this game and no one will even dream of picking us to win after Delhommes performance.  Delhomme has 1 of 2 options on Sunday.  The first being that he defeats the Cards and rids himself of his deamons, and can therfor get back to winning football games.  The second is that he goes out there and AZ finishes what they started and totally destroy Delhomme's spirit and his career in the NFL.

The whole decision is based on Fox knowing this is Jake's only chance to redeem himself with the fanbase and possibly rediscover his swagger. If he can go out there into a hostile environment (with fans that will undoubtedly be screaming "C'mon, Jake, throw one to Cromartie/Rolle!") and get a win, it might really be what gets him back on track. I honestly think it's setting him up for an even bigger failure, but if Fox thinks it's only fair to give him one last shot at redemption, then so be it.
