Re: welcome back JayJ6meeks d fits us pretty good when all the defense shows up! jake going 7 -14 for less then 100 yards isnt anything that will win many games, but not turning it over is a start, btw i like the zip i saw from matt moore on that over throw, but yea, our running game dominated |

Re: welcome back JayJ6So when Jake throws 40+, we lose and when we run 40+, we win.... I wonder if there's something to that. |

Re: welcome back JayJ6But you cannot do that every week. Soon, folk just stack the box and tire your O line. I know az stacked 8 many plays and we still ran on them but that won't happen week in and week out. Plus, many of the long runs were due to bad tackling. Reminded me of our D. But not lately! |

Re: welcome back JayJ6This guy gets it. Offenses around the league with the exception of a small handful (and even they have to do it too) do this as a norm. Ask any coach and they will say, "YOU TAKE WHAT THE OFFENSE GIVES YOU!" It is instilled in young QBs from day one assistants have to have that tattooed on their ass as part of the coach hazing process. It is like saying the sky is blue. Nothing new. Sure if you have a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees or Tom Brady and now it looks like Phillip Rivers then you have some leeway with that but the other teams not as much. |

Re: welcome back JayJ6Well, its what works for our team. We put the game in Jake's hands, we lose. We run the ball, we win. Simple. And was the bad tackling because they actually tackled poorly, or because D-will and J-stew are, in general, hard to tackle? Or maybe a combination? Bottom line, we need to maintain this run heavy attack or we will not be able to build on this success. |

Re: welcome back JayJ6No I agree but we have to be 2 dimensional. Run heavy but with the threat to go long. We have lost that threat in a big way. Trust me, the formula we used yesterday cannot and will not take you to the super bowl. Im glad we won but we have to have the deep threat, receivers included. Plus when Jake gets blitzed, he has no presence to go across the middle for a slant, etc. The throw to Smitty was classic though-soooo smooooth. Yeah-er |
