Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckThere isn't a team in the NFL that would not rather run the ball if it is working. I have seen several games with the great P. Manning throwing less than ten times a half bc they could run the ball. I have also seen this with Brees in NO and in SD bc they were running the ball well, and once when they were not running the ball so well in NO. EVERY TEAM IS ABOUT BALL CONTROL AND EVERY TEAM IS ABOUT TAKING WHAT THE D GIVES YOU. Young QBs are drilled with this from day one and assistants and coordinators have it tattooed during their initiation into the game. It's science. And JD may be "done" but so was Kurt Warner and Drew Brees a few years back and look at them now. The last two games he has looked far from "done" IMO. |

Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckDrew Brees was done? When? I dont remember that(?) I remember San Diego basically screwing him by letting him go because of shoulder surgery and he came back even stronger and now will be laughing at them for doing him like that. I hope rivers and the chargers lose every game. They did Brees wrong. Anyway, i'm pulling for our division foe to represent the NFC, thats right I said it. I hope NO wins the super bowl if we can't do it this year! |

Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckYeah and ask any SD fan beggin for the most popular guy in the locker room (this is in every city not just ours) even though they didn't have Rivers yet to start. That is when. When they got Rivers it was worse and then it actually happened. |

Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckExcellent points. The conservative play calling and lack of passing game threat are hard to get over. We won't win many games against good teams trying to sit on leads. We have to keep attacking and we must be able to stretch the field. |

Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckAnyone notice how Jarrett, on that long pass to him, when he saw where it was going, pulled past the defender? Seems it was said he's not fast, but he was noticeably faster than that defender. And his trotting pace gives me the following idea. If the play called in the huddle says the ball is to go to a certain receiver, and if the other receivers think Jake will force the ball in to the designated receiver, maybe the other receivers aren't trying to get open from the get go. Maybe this is why Carolina passes generally go to tightly covered receivers while opponents passes often go to wide open receivers. Seems that "watching film" might have shown this some years ago.

Re: jake and fox... this is why you guys suckI see it too, but people want to point fingers at Jake because he messed up a lot this year. However like you said it was not his fault in this one. But so many people want to point fingers and have someone to blame. The fact is there where a lot of mistakes Sunday. There was some good points though. Look at Martin for instance. The pick Gamble got was directly because martin had Gamble backed up and allowed him to jump the rout without fearing if he missed the ball the guy would get in for a score. So martin is playing well IMO. Jake has gone two games without turning the ball over, win or lose that is an improvement. For the most part we lost that game by 3 points (the final 7 points on the fumble was insult to injury). We kept the top rated Offense in the league at bay. It was a few mistakes that cost us that game. Jake was not really involved in those mistakes. |
