The play calling says it allI'm not sure how many of you noticed this, but through the 3rd quarter yesterday Delhomme had thrown 12 passes (thats and average of 4 passes a quarter). I know we are a running team and a damn good one, but at some point you actually have to throw passes to Smitty and your other WRs. I think that the play calling shows exactly how much faith Fox and Davidson have in Delhomme. Any coach that trusts their QB at least in the slightest is not going to continually run on 3rd and long with 9 in the box-atleast not more than once, but we did it over and over and over. Imagine what we could be with a defense playing like we have right now, a running game with 2 of the leagues best running backs, and the amazing Smitty. I'm not saying that Fox isn't to blame, but I don't think that Fox is done winning in Carolina. Unfortunatly, I think Delhomme is done. |

Re: The play calling says it allWith that being said I think it is unecessary to bash or defend delhomme anymore. Fox and Davidson have shown what they think of Delhomme, but there isn't a better option on the roster now. Better pick up a FA QB that can come in and start right away, if needed. |

Re: The play calling says it allI wondered if because of such a terrible first half for Jake, if they are just trying to ease him back in. Minimal number of passes last week, no interceptions. More passes this week, no interceptions. Maybe this is Foxes approach to rebuilding Jake's confidence. I also don't think Fox is foolish enough to think Jake is the answer over the duration of his contract and I expect to see some movement towards developing a qb soon. |

Re: The play calling says it allYes I could have been the DC for the saints. I would have called this play everytime. "Ok guys, stack 8 in the box...5 up front then 3. Contain the ends and single coverage the wideouts. 2 stay home just in case that squirrel DWill breaks lose-he most likely will." |

Re: The play calling says it allrunning on third and a mile yesterday was a joke, jake doesnt manage games anymore, and when he does or tires.. he throws picks... id say.. stick a fork in the panthers now, and work with matt moore for next season... give matt the start for the rest of the season |
