Chad Pennington next year?

I just read an arcticle by Petie King on SI.com that listed the top fifteen (in his opinion) UFAs for 2010. Peppers was #3 because "he has really woken up the last three weeks" (guess the tub o'lard didn't watch the game yesterday). But at the bottom of the list was Chad Pennington.

I think Pennington could be a decent stop-gap for a year or two until a good option comes along. He might be able to put up two more solid years, allowing the Panthers to draft a first round quarterback in the 2011 draft (assuming we don't trade that one away for a peanut butter sandwich and a Wade Boggs rookie card).

What do you guys think?

Good question.  With Pennington, you're getting experience, but is he much of an upgrade from Jake?  What about Vince Young?  Will he not be available? I know he has his own issues, but I think he'd be able to add a dimension to the offense that we've not had.  He's big and he can run and honestly, he can't be less accurate than Jake!!  Just a thought.

i really like VY and would LOVE to have him here, but i dont think hes getting out of tennessee.

That's all we need is a QB over 30 that has had reconstructive surgery on his throwing shoulder 3 times. No thanks, I'd rather take my chances with Jake. Let's just get 2 good young QBs via draft and/or free agency this off season and build for the future. I hate to say it, but Jake's going to be our guy next year too.
