Well along with that addage, they had defensive guys that stepped up and led. Now our vets aren't like that. For example, Peppers. He won't step up and say anything to lift his team up. It's taken a second year vet to step up and speak for the team on D. Your D will thrive on it's best leaders on offense and defense but you got to have the guys willing to be that voice. Wait till Pep is gone, you will see that new mentality we have been hungry for since the Sam Mills/Mark Fields era.

And to answer your question I guess I would feel like when Beason held out for more cash as a rookie or when Gross did basically the same and the slew of other players that have and will do as such.  Business as usual.  The guy never said a word while he was under contract until his contract was done.  He has every right to do that.
