QB Position Coach

There is an interesting article on the panthers site concerning the new QB position coach.  That got me thinking that he might be able to help Delhomme with some things that he has struggled with the past several years. If he can improve Delhomme's decision making, which has been less than stellar at times, our offense may reach a new level.  Thoughts?

i agree. i think scherer will help delhomme in a few areas. decision making, footwork, and pocket awareness. i like that hes doing the bag drills that jim zorn made famous the past few years. that drill should really help delhomme.

Can't teach and old dog new tricks.

Maybe he'll help some, but I doubt Delhomme will have any sudden epiphanies with a different coach.

i dont know. scherer is way more of a fundementals kind of coach than mccoy is. this could be a good thing.

17 has had the same Q coach during all his yrs with the club...some times a different view/coaching prospective can be good...like all the footwork drills that have been a part of the new guys regime, in a game whereby the margin b/t the W & the L is 2-3% if 17 can improve his mobility by 1/2% that has got to be a good thing!

It sounds like they've struck up a quick rapport, and that Delhomme is receptive to new ideas.

His pocket awareness has been cited in the past as less than ideal, shall we say -- these new drills should help with that.

Anything that makes him better is fine by me.  If Delhomme can master some of his weaknesses, our team will only be that much better.
