WBT Radio broadcast shockingly poorI am doublely grateful that several sports bar out here carry the NFL Sunday ticket during the regular season-not the case for preseason games, so I had my first experience w/WBT's broadcast of the Miami game having listened online---while the pregame show was a B+ the actual play-by-play broadcast ranged from a C to a D-...I guess I wrongfully assumed that all NFL teams had a high quality radio crew to do the games (perhaps I am spoiled as over the yrs the Nebraska Sports Network...while tremendously bias...has done a great job of discribing the basic's of down-distance, formation-motion the play and play results...think his name was Mixon...he is in way over his head...meaning I get the feeling he really has not grown up around much football---he wasn't very good, were it not for some of the insights Robinson occassionaly provided I would have given the broadcast a F

Re: WBT Radio broadcast shockingly poorI agree, Mick Mixon is horrible. He took over for Bill Rosinski (sp?), in 04 or 05. Rosinski does games on westward one and is awesome. He is the one that did the radio broadcast for the 03-04 Superbowl and " Yes Charlotte there is a Superbowl and we're in it. " I use to turn down the sound on the tv and listen to WBT during games but haven't since milktoast Mixon took over. Hang in there man. |

Re: WBT Radio broadcast shockingly poorHmmm...I listened to at least 10 games on the radio last year and I have to say I loved it. Mixon is nothing special, but Eugene Robinson is by far my favorite guy to listen to. I broke down and got the Ticket this year so I could watch the games, but I definitely enjoyed the radio broadcasts last year. Maybe the boys aren't in mid-season form yet. |

Re: WBT Radio broadcast shockingly poori agree husker guy, mixon is horrible. bill rosinski was an awesome radio guy. as was already mentioned, he now does westwood one and when ever i catch his broadcast, almost never panther games, i listen anyway. he is one of those guys that you will tune in to hear no matter who is playing. as for robinson, unless you played collegiate or pro football, how do you even know what he is talking about? 9 routes and 3 technique mean nothing to the average fan. explaining these things would make it more acceptable, to me anyway, to use that lingo during the broadcast. |
