By the way, without Delhomme the Panthers t/o margine is + in the double digit.  I still have great respect for the guy, but I can't believe how bad we sucked with him at QB this year.  Its almost unreal.
If I were in 17's shoes I do not know that I could have held up any better...but this is what can happen to a offense when the trigger man losses self-confidence...in time the team losses that knwingness confidence in the Q as well...I too have great respect for 17 and anyone who says they would have wanted to be wearing his shoes is not being total honest...(LOL...wearing his shoes aside from the $$$$)

the D continues to improve and step up in huge ways...it's a "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas" statement but can you imagine if the Panthers would have had this type D going into the playoffs last year????

If boldin would be happy being a number 2 guy I would take him in a heart beat, but the problem is that he wants to be a number one or there would be no beef in AZ.
Was this supposed to be part of another post? No matter. The Saints will play us as hard as they can for one quarter then hope their 2nd string squad is good enough to keep us down. Like the 1st string, they'll fail.

As to the Boldin/TO/Seymour/Cribbs/Umenyiora comment, I would like to see us go after someone like Boldin. The guy catches EVERYTHING. He gets banged up a lot, but in that pass-happy AZ offense when you go across the middle ten times a game you get your bell rung. TO's too old to sign and I personally think he's a mentally unstable freak. Without football he'd be in a rubber room talking to himself. Osi and Cribbs will get offers for contract extensions and with Holmgren coming into Cleveland and the Giants D coordinator likely getting canned they'll stay put. We need to sign Peppers to a three or four year deal if we can. He might be willing to "play ball" after these last few games and the possibility of a new passing game to keep him off the field for 45 of 60 minutes. Seymour is a waste and I wouldn't want him here. Let him stay in Oakland. If Bellichick was willing to let him go, why would we want him?

Qaun would cost us to much money ! Don't think we're will to pay what he wants . I would love to have him here though but I think its probably not going to happen.  We need a Ricky Prohel don't think that's spelled right type WR . This staff has to put in overtime in this years draft because we can't afford to miss on anyone !

Re: Looks like 8-8

If I were the saints I would be a little panicked now and trying to play their best game of the season.  If they play great early on I would begin resting starters if it is close I would play everybody to the end.  Either way I don't think there are any teams in the league right now that can beat us.  The line has played better with Schwartz, and Barnadeau, the defense has come together Moore is playing like a top 5 QB and we have the awesome run defense.  The team has come together.  I think Moore is the reason,  I try not to get too excited about his play but it is very hard not to overreact.

i'm with ya hook.  I personally hope we get teh Saints' best shot and nock them the F*** out.  Had we been in the playoffs no team in the NFC would want to face us right now.

Re: Looks like 8-8

A win over the Saints would take some of the bad taste out of our mouths and leave us hoping for a winning season next year.  We may be set at QB, but we desperately need a #2 receiver to take the heat off Smitty; a real run-stopper in the middle and some help with ST's. I think some of this can be taken care of in the draft...but something has to be worked out with Peppers!  There's too much money involved here that could be used to strengthen the team, especially with FA's
