They wear white at home durring the hot months to force the other team to wear black under the Carolina Sun.  We are one of the few teams that do that.  I think the chargers are another team that does it.  I personally have a black Jersey.  Doesn't look dirty when I drop my coke on it after a miraculous Smitty catch.  LMAO

first off, the team will post on panthers.com which jerseys they will be wearing for each game for the whole season.  probably in the next weak or two it will be posted.  talbot is correct about forcing opposing teams to wear dark jerseys in hot months.  wearing your dark jersey at home is the norm, just like wearing white at home in MLB and NBA, but the panthers feel that if it even gives them the slightest edge, it is worth it, and they are right. also, they will sometimes wear white when they play dallas, to make them wear their dark jerseys, which i can only speculate is because there is some stigma to them about not wearing the white, the redskins have done this too.
as for the blue jerseys, i have also noticed a trend the last couple of years.  to further gain every possible edge when it comes to heat, the panthers will wear blue in road games, when they can't wear white since the home team has done it for heat purposes, since they figure medium blue jerseys will be cooler than black.  example, last year they wore blue at SD and TB

I think we can only wear one style of alternates (the blue jerseys) for a limited number of games (3?).

As much as I like the blues, I'd love to see all black.
