I was a Giants fan until the preseason of 95. In 94 I pulled for the Panthers but was raised on the G men. The Panthers played the Giants in preseason and before that game I realized that I had to make a choice. Half way through the Game I found myself pulling for the Panthers and have never looked back, Even during the 1 - 15 season, I never thought about switching back. I've only pulled for the Giants once since then and that was against
the Pats and of course so did 99% of America. If you want to pull for another team fine with me but, at least make it a team in the opposite conference. I'm not going to judge if anyone is a "REAL" fan because, deep down ,that person allready knows.

Just because you root for more than one team, doesn't make you a fake fan.

How can the Panthers be the only team I root for? They didn't exist when I started to watch football.

Growing up, my father (born near Philadelphia)was and still is an Eagles fan.
My mother (Hating the Bucs, even though they already sucked)LOVED the way the 49ers would go in and tear them apart.She slowly but surely became what she is today: A 49ers fan.

It's only natural that I would take a liking to these teams. When the Panthers came along I figured it was time to pick my own team. I chose the Panthers over the Jaguars(Very happy with my decision).

I can safely say that I do not pull for these teams evenly though. The Panthers are raking in about 80-85% of that one.

The wierd thing: I live in Florida( I think I'm the only Panthers fan down here)The local/hometown team has always been the Bucs... I couldn't ever like them if I tried. Especially now.

My point though, you can't question somebody else's fanhood if they like another team as well, because you probably have no idea why they are fans to begin with...well, unless it's the Patriots. You can continue to bash those people.
