Re: Mike GoodsonHonestly, I think that will have to do with how J-Stew feels come the regular season. My guess is that he and Stewart will share carries behind Williams if Stewart isn't able to carry that load at the start of the season. Most likely his action will be on returns and the ocasional 2 back set we run. Would like to see him in the slot, or perhaps try some wildcat with him. I think the best way to use goodson is going to be getting him the ball in open field and let him use his speed. |

Re: Mike GoodsonI'm hearing third down back. I don't think we can rush him this season. He will come into his own naturally with time. He has done great so far but come on. Nothing he has done has said to me he needs more touches than the average rookie. I hope we will be talking about him more this season and for years to come but Im cool with him developing in due time. He ain't no Reggie Bush (at least I don't think) and I think there was too much emphasis put on him (Bush I mean) and his contribution right away. I think it has essentially hurt his career. He is a great guy (Bush) but he has struggled with injury and impact since day one. Let Goodson come on at his pace unless injuries cause panic. As long as he does the same or more of what Goings did he will help us tremendously. |

Re: Mike GoodsonReturning kicks is where he'll fit in this year. I'd say at best he'll get 5 offensive touches a game depending on how J-Stew's injuries go. I'm also interested to see what happens with the rumors that we were going to use him in the slot. I don't recall seeing him lined up out wide so far.

Re: Mike Goodsonthe way things are shaping up...i do not think touches for Goodson will be an issue...he'll get pleanty of touches---#28 and this achilles injury is certainly turning into more than want was initially suggested...totally shutting down a guy from 99% of practices is not typical...if I guy cannot even participate in certain non-contact sgements of practice...running plays, cutting, agility drills that are non-contact....well...just do not see how in the world that injury will hold up when violent contact is added--things just no not look good for 28...so 33 is up next! |

Re: Mike GoodsonI could see him moving to the slot if needed when JStew comes back, but with his return still so unknown, he needs to get as much experience as possible at RB. I know he still has alot to learn but I am thankful we have a guy with such potential if Stewart is out for a significant amount of time. |
