UFL better served by playing in the spring

Of all the start up football leagues that have given it a go over the years the USFL had the longest run (if my recollection serves me they lasted 3 perhaps 4 yrs) They played their ballgames in the spring thur July---that time frame allowed and/or helped the football junkie's and purests to survive a long offseason away from football with a football fix until the NFL bigboys started traing camps again...this served the USFL very well---I believe the UFL is not only missing the boat, but has a huge hole in the boat by trying to play their ball games in the fall...we have HS, College and NFL FB going on...who is going to watch the UFL...

plus the UFL with NFL castoffs...the USFL not only played in the sring but they had players like Sam Mills, Herschel Walker, Mike Rozier, Steve Young, Anthony Carter etc., many, many good player fresh out of college who they were able to pay alot of che$$es too....

Thoughts?

I can't think of a decent reason to watch the UFL.  Unless you want to watch what is basically an extended preseason.

I like the concept of the UFL, but I think it would be better served as more of a farm system for the NFL rather than an independent league, like allowing franchises to field 53 man teams made up of their practice squards and training camp bodies.

The farm system works very well for baseball, though I don't think it would work quite as well for football.  I'm sure there'd be enough bodies to make teams between the UFL players now and other college players who didn't get drafted or didn't even enter the draft.

Heck, it'd even give a regular Joe like me a shot at making a team....

Well their timing could not be better if the NFL fails to come to another agreement soon it will be the only football we have and we will be loving no matter when they play their games.
